Johanan: Who are you?
Ese: Eseosa Aigbokhae, Football player for Kennesaw State University
Johanan: Outside of football, what do you like to do? Are there any interests there
Ese: Game, workout and going to new places
Johanan: How do you make it work? How do you make the college athlete life work? I know it must be a bit challenging
Ese: They have us on a schedule. It not really hard for time management. They prepare our schedule and all we have to do is show up and do what’s necessary
Johanan: But from a mental standpoint, how do you approach football?
Ese: Prepare yourself for the worst and get through the day because it will be a long one
Johanan: Well, obviously, football isn’t for everyone, but i want to know why, from your perspective, you think that is.
Ese: Not everyone can do it, it is very physical demanding and I am doing it at a high level, which makes it even harder.
Johanan: And you have a great level of discipline as well, which I think to some extent is even more difficult than the physical aspect
Johanan: What do you think of stereotypes about college athletes?
Ese: Which one? There’s a lot
Johanan: What’s the dumbest one, or what’s the one you think is the dumbest?
Ese: That it’s easy being a college athlete, or it’s fun. It looks fun, Can be fun sometimes. But you don’t see what we have to put up with in our day to day lives
Johanan: What’s the best part of it though? What do you love most about this life?
Ese: Free school and the lil extra perks and benefits for playing for the school
Johanan: Do you see yourself as your own harshest critic?
Ese: My coaches expect a higher standard
Johanan: Well, that being said, what’s the most irresponsible thing you often do?
Ese: Bad sleeping schedule. Not getting enough rest
Johanan: You must be insanely disciplined if this is the most irresponsible thing you do often
Ese: I don’t go out or party or drink or smoke so…
Johanan: Thank you. Thank you for sharing your insights
